Tomorrow is T-day

The speakers are putting the last finishing touches to their presentations, the technicians are rolling out their cables and setting up boxes of serious-looking equipment, the team are all hard at work in their various assigned roles. Actually, now is probably a good moment to say thank you to the entire team, some of whom have worked essentially full-time over the last few weeks to bring you TEDxWarsaw. In case you are wondering, no we are not getting paid to do this and yes we all have day jobs. But we accept hugs and handshakes as thank-yous!

Tomorrow we open registration at 09:00 and start the first session at 10:00 sharp so please make sure you’ve picked up your badge before 09:45, AT WHICH POINT THE LADIES AT REGISTRATION WILL START TO ASSIGN THE NO-SHOW SEATS TO THOSE OFF THE WAITING LIST WHO HAVE SHOWN UP, on a first-come-first-served basis. This assignment will be CONDITIONAL and temporary, pending the arrival of the registered and confirmed person. Please understand that we are trying our best to make this work – we are grateful for your co-operation.

We have a huge number of people on the waiting list so, please, if you know you are not going to be able to make it, send us an email RIGHT NOW so we can re-assign your seat.

We have a very full day ahead so come rested. Expect to be challenged, inspired, confronted, enlightened and entertained. Yes, we have technology, entertainment and design but we also have science, art, meditation, social work and music, lots and lots of music. We are going out on the edge for you, testing assumptions as well as technology. A lot of the ideas you will hear (all of them worth spreading) will be outside of the usual. We can pretty much guarantee that all of the performances will leave you gaping. We are also hoping that the gods of technology will be with us for some of those.

If you’re Tweeting use the hashtags #tedxwarsaw or #tedxwaw and follows us @tedxwarsaw for any last minute announcements. Please, if you are planning to live-blog or tweet from the event, sit in the last three rows. There is no reserved seating except for the front row which is for our speakers. Photographs and video are welcome of course, but DO NOT USE FLASH OR LIGHTS. Modern digital cameras are very sensitive and you will be asked to cease if you use a flash. If you get some cool pictures we would love you to share them with everyone. Send us a link to the upload or email us the files as we will be putting together a commemorative slideshow.

Naturally, no cellphone conversations are allowed in the auditorium during the sessions.

So come rested and bring lots of enthusiasm. You will be expected to participate in some lively discussions. The wait is nearly over. See you tomorrow.
